A Smart Emergency Notification

Firefighters across the nation respond to fires, ems, hazmat, and any time people need help 24 hours a day.  It can be a dangerous profession, but an extremely important one which can save lives and property.  Everyday they must respond rapidly, and seconds and minutes can mean the literally mean life or death.  FirefighterLog aims to give responders rapid notification of incidents and the information they need on phones, tablets, and any web devices.

By using smartphones and tablets(currently android only) and cloud technology FirefighterLog can send alerts out to responders faster then ever before.  With our beta testers notifications are often received BEFORE the call is dispatched over the radio, sometimes by as much as 30-60 seconds!  Responders are shown a map of the location instantly and nearby watersupplies.  Notes from the 911 center are also shown.

Most fire departments keep preplans of target occupancy - floorplans, hazardous materials, contact info, etc.  Usually this is kept in binders on fire apparatus.  Some departments use MDTs (Mobile Data Terminals) to access this information but these systems are expensive.  Typically these are "ruggedized" laptops which range from $3k-5k plus the cost of software.  FirefighterLog will make most of the functionality of MDTs available on tablets, smartphones, and any web enabled platform at a fraction of the cost.  FirefighterLog currently displays hydrants, call notes, and notes on locations.  More features will be added in the coming months.

FirefighterLog currently works with existing text(SMS) dispatches by working with the Cadpage android app,  however FirefighterLog works best with direct CAD integration.   Direct cad integration allows for quicker messaging and better results and is being offered as a service bundled with Text(SMS) dispatches for non-android phones.  FirefighterLog is available for free on the play market.

FirefighterLog is currently being tested with the City of Rocky Mount Fire Department with excellent results.  We are looking for other departments/districts to be early adopters of the system.  The system will use the app for Android phones and send text messages to non-android phones.  If your agency is interested and would like for information please fill out this form.
